“The Theology of Relationships: Building Relationships for Effective Ministry” will be the subject of Turning The World Upside Down Covenant Fellowship's first Convocation and Conference, July 15-17 in Buffalo, New York. The event will be held at Elim Christian Fellowship, 70 Chalmers Avenue, Buffalo, with attendees from approximately twenty churches. Bishop T. Anthony Bronner, the founder of Turning The Word Upside Down Covenant Fellowship, will be a featured speaker at the conference.
Sessions at the conference will include topics like “New Testament Fundamentals,” “Church History,” and “Turning Visitors Into Members.” The conference sessions are meant to train and develop Christian evangelists, ministers, and church workers.
For youth, there will be several sessions like “How To Say I Love You And Mean It” and “Parents Just Don't Understand, Or Do They?” There will also be gender-specific Q&A talks, where young people will have a forum to discuss tough issues they face as a young man or lady in today's world.
Registration for the conference is $60 for the youth conference or $140-$150 for the adult conference. The fee covers several development and training sessions, course materials, and meals.
Evening sessions of the conference are free and open to the public, starting at 5:30pm each weeknight with a time of intercessory prayer, followed by a teaching series from The Kingdom Institute from 6 – 6:50pm, and an evening service at 7pm with Bishop Bronner.

The Buffalo area's newest summer festival, LatinFest, makes its debut July 11th, at 5pm. The event, which is free to the public and will feature free parking, food, dancing, live music, and kids' games/activities for teens, will take place on the grounds of the sprawling Wesleyan Church of Hamburg campus, located at 4999 McKinley Parkway, in Hamburg.
"I wanted to have a family-friendly, cultural event in the Southtowns," says event organizer Johnny Juarez, who is also an international recording artist. "This event is for everyone, and will feature a flag parade, so I encourage you to bring a flag representing your country of origin. It will be a great time for Western New Yorkers to come together for a nice night of fun, dining and dancing, Latin-style."
LatinFest will feature Spanish speakers, singers and recording artists. Whether or not you speak Spanish, you're welcome to come enjoy this "Spanglish" (English-Spanish) event, a first of its kind for Western New York. For more information, please call Vanessa Juarez at 716-649-6335 or email

Lynette is a hardworking 31-year-old mother of four young kids. She lives in a drafty old house on Buffalo's East Side, and money is tight. Sometimes her kids don't eat dinner because they simply don't have the money to pay for food. The kids have very few outfits to choose from for school, and they lack the basic supplies others take for granted, like crayons and backpacks. Lynette's boyfriend is a drug addict who recently got locked up in Attica State Prison, and her elderly parents are frail, living in a nursing home. Lynette is not alone in her plight. There are several thousand other Western New York single moms with kids living in poverty right now. |
